Who we are
Inspired by a life-changing event, Dr. Bowie, BC Bowie Scholarship Foundation was established in 1997, as Artistic Expressions Plus, by Barbara Bowie, receiving our 501c3 status in 2001 in San Antonio, Tx. Barbara, Former City Councilperson for Kirby/San Antonio, Retired Social Worker/Nurse, Mental Health Counselor and Published Poet/Writer, started out with a Poetry Venue that attracted youth by giving them an outlet for expressing their thoughts, feelings and frustrations.
